It’s Very Easy to Get to Brewfest from NYC and NJ

Just board a free Brewfest Water Taxi at Manhattan’s Pier 11 or at Jersey City’s Liberty Harbor Marina, or take one of the regular Governors Island ferries. Complete details below.

FROM MANHATTAN:
Free Brewfest water taxis run constantly from 1:00-9:00 pm between Pier 11 and Governors Island (in both directions). Pier 11 is located at South Street, between Wall Street and Gouverneur Lane (see Manhattan map below). The ride takes approximately 6 minutes each way.

To get to Pier 11 by subway, take 2/3 or 4/5 to Wall St station; J/M/Z to Broad St station; or R/W to Rector St or Whitehall St stations.

Alternative Manhattan directions: Governors Island operates its own ferry that departs from the Battery Maritime Building located at 10 South Street, adjacent to the Staten Island Ferry in Lower Manhattan. This ferry ride takes about 7 minutes each way. But please note: Governors Island is open to the general public on Saturday, June 19 and lines for the Governors Island ferry may be long. Brewfest ticket holders are strongly encouraged to access Governors Island via the free Brewfest Water Taxi at Pier 11. FROM NEW JERSEY:
Free Brewfest water taxis will run from 1:00-5:00 pm to Governors Island from Liberty Harbor Marina in Jersey City (on Marin Blvd. off of Grand St.). See the NJ map below. Note that water taxis will not travel directly to Liberty Harbor AFTER the event—instead, take a water taxi from Governors Island to Pier 11, and then take a free water taxi from Pier 11 back to Liberty Harbor Marina.

While you can drive to Libery Harbor Marina and park there before you take the water taxi, we recommend using public transit so you don’t have to drive home that night: you can take NJ Transit Light Rail (Hudson-Bergen Line) to the MARIN BLVD stop. Please note: there is an event happening in Liberty State Park that may create delays for cars and parking; again, we recommend using NJ Transit Light Rail, if possible.
